Well, things over here in the subcommittee are quite exciting... that was sarcasm. I shouldn't complain though. I suppose aimlessly wandering around the internet and making an average of 0.25 copies a day is better than endless, mind-numbing data entry. Since I cannot make a good impression with my work ethic, I have begun bringing in treats for my office of a whopping 2 people, John and Andrew. I brought chocolate cupcakes last week and this week I have brought in chocolate-banana brownies with peanutbutter icing.
Other than baking and stumbleupon, I have been attending random briefings to pass the time. One was on US-India nuclear agreements. Another was on the coastguard's involvement in the arctic and various systems that are needed. This past weekend I went to a political comedy show, totally worth the $39 ticket price, and saw the live butterfly exhibit at the natural history museum, in addition to seeing the botanical gardens that are right next to the Capitol. As a side note: there was an article written about my time here on my school's website to try to convince people that students at my school actually do something with their lives.
Plans for the Near Future:
If everything goes well, I will be going to Baltimore on Thursday (perhaps -don't tell school- to dance) and chilling in Philly with my friend Jason on Friday. My sister arrives in DC on Saturday and we're gonna go to NYC on Sunday with Jason and his friends. Mary and I will meet up with one of her camp friends and Jason will show us around Philly on Monday. I'm pretty excited to see my sister and so many new places this week. I'll try to let you know how it goes. Oh, and next Thursday I will be going to a Kings of Leon concert -Jason got us tickets.
