February Already?

Above: Embarrassing picture of me (and Irene) from the opera. We were gingerbread children.

Wow, it's been forever since I have blogged on here.

Update on the past few weeks:

I was a chorus girl in the opera Hansel and Gretel and so my life consisted of a little bit of school, a smaller bit of sleep, and a whole lot of singing for a few weeks. It was fun to get to know the other chorus girls. If I hadn't participated in the opera, I would have never gotten to know Elizabeth and Irene so well.

I passed my 1st (of 3) Music Theory exams with a 92 last week, which is such a miracle. My Aural Training grade is not so hot... probably a low B or high C, but that is my hardest class. Cheerleading is over next weekend, so I will hopefully have a lot more time to study when it ends. I don't think I will be able to cheer next year if I continue studying music, it just won't be physically/mentally possible to do both at the sophomore level for music.

A friend of mine, Bri, and I are praying about starting a Bible study on womens' roles in the church and the family (equal partners vs men leading and such). I am really hoping it comes together, identity as a woman and as a woman following Christ is a topic that can get pretty controversial very quickly.

Alex and I had a wonderful Valentines Day last Thursday. He got my Godiva chocolate and a new cord for my ipod (to connect it to my car) and we watched V for Vendetta in the Student Center after eating dinner in the cafeteria with some friends. It was a nice evening. Alex had to leave the next morning for a swim meet though, so I didn't see him that weekend.

I just had my interview for a 100% scholarship and am hoping that I impressed the panel. It would be amazing if I could get that scholarship, though I am sure there are other people who need it more than I do.

Saturday night a bunch of my girl friends and I are going to watch chick flicks, dye Mary's hair, eat brownies, and paint our nails -in general, a girls' night in. I'm way excited. I hung out all last weekend with Bri and Erin too. We went to see the movie 27 Dresses (way cute, though cliche) and then bought all the roses that were on sale from Valentines Day and gave them to our friends. I love it when all the holiday stuff goes on sale and you get to buy everything crazy cheap. I gave Alex a white rose and he wrote me saying that he appreciated that I gave him the white rose because it stands for purity.

Anywho, I am currently preparing for some upcoming projects in music theory and a few exams, in addition to gettting ready to go France and Ireland over spring break with my friend Sara. I will take tons of pictures.
